How to use
- Enter Appliance power W.
- Enter Hours per day.
- Enter Days.
- Calculate, then review power, price and period before comparing.
How it is calculated
Example
A 1,500 W appliance running 4 hours a day uses 6 kWh daily and 180 kWh over 30 days.
Important notes
Nameplate power can be a maximum rather than average draw. Thermostatic or variable-speed appliances need a realistic average.
Worked examples and interpreting results
| Case | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Daily | 1500 ÷ 1000 × 4 | 6 |
| 30 days | 6 × 30 | 180 |
Frequently asked questions
Are watts the same as kWh?
No. Watts measure power; kWh measures energy from power multiplied by time.
Is the result an actual utility bill?
No. It is a calculation from your usage, price and inputs; real tariffs, taxes and fixed fees may add other items.
How can I improve accuracy?
Use measured or device-specific power and usage plus the actual electricity price for the same period.
