How to use
The calculator has two modes: count working days inside a date range, or find a date after adding/subtracting a number of business days. You can choose common weekend patterns and add custom holiday dates instead of assuming one country's official calendar.
- Choose range counting or add/subtract mode.
- Select the date(s) and weekend pattern.
- Optionally enter custom holidays as YYYY-MM-DD dates.
- For a range, choose whether to include each endpoint, then review the breakdown.
How it is calculated
Example
Example: Sunday through Thursday with a Friday–Saturday weekend and both endpoints included gives five business days unless one is entered as a custom holiday. Adding +1 business day from Thursday lands on Sunday under that weekend rule. Dated example: October 5–9, 2026 contains 5 business days with a Saturday–Sunday weekend and both endpoints included. Enter October 7 as a custom holiday to get 4. In add mode, 3 business days after Friday October 9 is Wednesday October 14 with no custom holidays; the starting day is not one of the added days.

This tool does not claim to know official holidays automatically. Holidays vary by country, sector and year, and legal deadlines can have special endpoint rules. For formal deadlines or contracts, check the authoritative calendar and applicable rules.
Worked examples and interpreting results
From Monday 12 October to Thursday 15 October 2026 there are four business days when both dates are included and no extra holidays apply.

How to check the result
Weekend rules, custom holidays and start/end inclusion all change the result. No country's official holidays are assumed.
Counting business days between two dates
Configure your region's weekend days and optional holidays, then confirm whether the start or end date is included before relying on the count.
- Monday through Friday, endpoints included: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri = 5
- One weekday holiday in that week: 5 − 1 = 4
- Add 3 workdays after Monday: Tue + Wed + Thu = Thursday
Important note
Business calendars differ worldwide. Friday–Saturday and Saturday–Sunday weekends can produce different answers.

Frequently asked questions
Are public holidays included automatically?
No. Add the dates you want to exclude manually because official calendars differ by place and year.
Is the start date counted?
In range mode you can independently include or exclude the start and end dates.
Can I subtract business days?
Yes. Enter a negative integer in add/subtract mode.
What if a holiday falls on a weekend?
It is counted once in the weekend category, rather than subtracted again as another holiday. Repeating a holiday date does not remove multiple days.
Is the starting day counted when adding business days?
No. Adding moves to the next date first; subtracting moves to the previous date first, then eligible working days are counted. Adding zero returns the starting date.
