Inventory Lot Sell-Through Calculator

Calculate the share sold from a defined inventory lot and its unsold units using a fixed lot and reporting period.

Starting values are an editable worked example.

How to use

Calculate the share sold from a defined inventory lot and its unsold units using a fixed lot and reporting period.

  1. Enter matching-period inputs with consistent units: Total units in the defined lot, Units sold from this lot
  2. Sell-through = units sold from the lot ÷ total units in the lot × 100
  3. Calculate, then check data definitions and assumptions in the note before comparing with another period.

How it is calculated

Sell-through = units sold from the lot ÷ total units in the lot × 100

Example

A lot of 500 units with 350 sold during the period gives 70% sell-through and 150 unsold units. Selling 450 from that same lot gives 90% and 50 unsold units.

Important notes

This calculator follows a defined lot. Do not pair sales of older stock with only new receipts in the denominator. Platform reports vary in their treatment of opening inventory, returns and received units; match your report definition first. Unsold does not mean physically on hand when damage, transfers or losses occur. Use a clear returns policy; the model accepts a nonnegative sold count no greater than the lot size.

Frequently asked questions

Are unsold units the current stock?

Only if there are no transfers, damage or other adjustments and the same lot is the calculation basis.

Why reject sales larger than the lot?

It tracks units from one lot. You may need to include opening stock or exclude sales from other lots.

Are the starting inputs my actual data?

They are only the worked example. Replace them with your data and press Calculate. Editing an input clears the old result.
