How to use
- Enter Revenue target.
- Enter Hourly rate.
- Calculate, then review the period, scope and assumptions before using the result for pricing or planning.
How it is calculated
Required hours = revenue target ÷ hourly rate
Example
A 30,000 revenue target at 100 per hour needs 300 billable hours, or 25 hours per week across 12 weeks.
Important notes
Check whether required hours fit your capacity after meetings, administration and marketing; otherwise the constraint may be the rate rather than hours.
Worked examples and interpreting results
| Case | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Required hours | 30000 ÷ 100 | 300 |
| Weekly over 12 weeks | 300 ÷ 12 | 25 |
Frequently asked questions
Do these hours include administration?
Not if administration is non-billable; add that time separately to estimate total workload.
Is the result a mandatory client price?
No. It is a planning result from your inputs; final pricing depends on scope, market, contract, taxes and risk.
Should I use monthly or annual figures?
Keep all inputs on the same period so annual income is not mixed with monthly hours or expenses.
