How to use
- Enter Hourly rate.
- Enter Billable hours per day.
- Calculate, then review the period, scope and assumptions before using the result for pricing or planning.
How it is calculated
Example
An hourly rate of 100 with 7 billable hours per day gives an arithmetic day rate of 700 before volume discounts or extra fees.
Important notes
Do not assume every working hour is billable; if the day includes unpaid administration or meetings, use realistic billable hours.
Worked examples and interpreting results
| Case | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Day rate | 100 × 7 | 700 |
| Billable hours | 7 | 7 |
Frequently asked questions
Must a day rate always equal hourly rate times hours?
Not commercially. A day may be priced for value or capacity reservation; this gives a mathematical reference point.
Is the result a mandatory client price?
No. It is a planning result from your inputs; final pricing depends on scope, market, contract, taxes and risk.
Should I use monthly or annual figures?
Keep all inputs on the same period so annual income is not mixed with monthly hours or expenses.
