How to use
- Enter Overdue balance.
- Enter Late-fee rate %.
- Calculate, then review the period, scope and assumptions before using the result for pricing or planning.
How it is calculated
Example
An overdue balance of 10,000 with a simple 1.5% fee gives a 150 late fee and an arithmetic balance of 10,150.
Important notes
Whether late fees are enforceable and their limits depend on contract and local law; use only the rate actually permitted and do not treat the example as legal advice.
Worked examples and interpreting results
| Case | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Late fee | 10000 × 1.5 ÷ 100 | 150 |
| Balance with fee | 10000 + 150 | 10,150 |
Frequently asked questions
Can the fee be applied every month automatically?
Not necessarily. Compounding or recurring fees may be restricted; this calculator applies one simple fee only.
Is the result a mandatory client price?
No. It is a planning result from your inputs; final pricing depends on scope, market, contract, taxes and risk.
Should I use monthly or annual figures?
Keep all inputs on the same period so annual income is not mixed with monthly hours or expenses.
