Linear momentum in one dimension equals mass times velocity. Because velocity is directional, the calculator preserves sign to represent the chosen direction.

- Enter known values and units; velocity or momentum may be negative for the opposite direction.
- Calculate the result and SI equivalent.
How it is calculated
p=mv; m=p÷v; v=p÷m
Example
Example: a 0.15 kg object at -30 m/s has momentum -4.5 kg·m/s relative to the chosen sign axis.
