How to use
A parallelogram is fixed by two adjacent side lengths and their included angle. The calculator returns area, perimeter, height on side a and both diagonals.
- Enter the two side lengths.
- Enter the included angle in degrees between 0 and 180.
- Choose a length unit.
- Review area, perimeter, height and diagonals.
How it is calculated
A=ab·sinθ; P=2(a+b); diagonals from the cosine rule
Example
For a=8, b=5 and θ=60°, area is about 34.641 and perimeter is 26.
Important notes
The reported height is b·sinθ relative to base a. As the angle approaches 0° or 180°, the area approaches zero.
Frequently asked questions
Is a rectangle a parallelogram?
Yes. It is the 90° special case.
Are the diagonals always equal?
No; they are equal for the rectangle case.
How is area calculated?
A=ab·sinθ.
Is this calculator free?
Yes. It is free to use and requires no account.
