How to use
- Enter Sale price.
- Enter Selling-cost rate %.
- Calculate, then verify which items are included in the definition before comparing.
How it is calculated
Selling costs = sale price × rate ÷ 100
Example
A 1,000,000 sale at 5% gives 50,000 selling costs and 950,000 before debt payoff and taxes.
Important notes
Do not treat this as net profit. Loan payoff, taxes, repairs and other settlement items may remain.
Worked examples and interpreting results
| Case | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Selling costs | 1000000 × 5 ÷ 100 | 50,000 |
| Net before debt | 1000000 − 50000 | 950,000 |
Frequently asked questions
Are net sale proceeds the same as profit?
No. Profit requires comparison with investment cost and relevant cash flows.
Are these rates legally required?
No. This is a general math tool; actual fees, rates and rules vary by contract, provider and jurisdiction.
How should two scenarios be compared?
Use the same period and cost definitions, and change one variable at a time where possible.
