Important notes
If bonus and salary cover different periods, align the periods first.
Worked examples and interpreting results
| Case | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus rate | 1000 ÷ 10000 × 100 | 10 % |
| Total | 10000 + 1000 | 11,000 |
Frequently asked questions
Can the rate exceed 100%?
Yes mathematically if the bonus exceeds base salary for the period.
Is the result a guaranteed take-home pay?
No. Taxes, insurance, allowances and deductions vary by employer and jurisdiction; use the calculator as a mathematical estimate only.
Should time periods be consistent?
Yes. When comparing pay, hours or deductions, keep the same period so weekly, monthly and annual figures are not mixed.
