Commission = sales × commission rate ÷ 100

Important notes
Verify the commission base: it may use gross sales, collected sales or sales after returns depending on the plan.
Worked examples and interpreting results
| Case | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Commission | 50000 × 5 ÷ 100 | 2,500 |
| Sales less commission | 50000 − 2500 | 47,500 |
Frequently asked questions
Do returns reduce commission?
It depends on the plan. Use the sales base actually eligible under the applicable rules.
Is the result a guaranteed take-home pay?
No. Taxes, insurance, allowances and deductions vary by employer and jurisdiction; use the calculator as a mathematical estimate only.
Should time periods be consistent?
Yes. When comparing pay, hours or deductions, keep the same period so weekly, monthly and annual figures are not mixed.
