Starting values are an editable worked example.

How to use

Calculate the share of website sessions that completed your chosen conversion, counting each converted session only once.

  1. Enter Total sessions.
  2. Enter Unique converted sessions.
  3. Calculate, then review the results and method assumptions.

How it is calculated

Session conversion rate = converted sessions ÷ total sessions × 100

Example

25 converted sessions out of 1,000 give a 2.5% rate, leaving 975 sessions without the chosen conversion. At 50 converted sessions, the rate becomes 5%.

Important notes

Do not enter total conversion events when an event can repeat in one session. This definition differs from conversions per ad click. Match the event and period, and deduplicate sessions in your report.

Frequently asked questions

Do multiple purchases in one session count multiple times?

Not in this metric. Count the session once if it completed the chosen event.

Why reject more converted sessions than total sessions?

Converted sessions are a subset of total sessions. An excess indicates mixed events, periods or definitions.

Does this convert currencies or import campaign data?

It uses only entered numbers, without import or currency conversion. Align currency, period and metric definitions in your source before entering values.
