How to use
- Enter Length m.
- Enter Width m.
- Enter Loaded height m.
- Calculate, then review units, cost scope and billing rule before comparing.
How it is calculated
Volume m³ = length × width × height
Example
A 1.2×1 m pallet loaded to 1.5 m has a geometric volume of 1.8 m³ and base area of 1.2 m².
Important notes
Geometric volume does not mean all space is used. Carton shape, stacking, gaps and pallet overhang determine practical utilization.
Worked examples and interpreting results
| Case | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Base area | 1.2 × 1 | 1.2 |
| Volume | 1.2 × 1 × 1.5 | 1.8 |
Frequently asked questions
Should pallet deck height be included?
If you need full external shipping volume, use total height including the pallet itself.
Is the result an actual carrier quote?
No. The calculator applies your inputs mathematically; carriers may use minimums, zones, tiers, fees and different rounding rules.
What matters most before comparing?
Keep units, period and cost scope consistent, and know whether pricing uses actual, dimensional or chargeable weight.
