How to use
- Enter Used volume m³.
- Enter Pallet volume m³.
- Calculate, then review units, cost scope and billing rule before comparing.
How it is calculated
Utilization = used volume ÷ pallet volume × 100
Example
Using 1.35 m³ of a 1.8 m³ pallet volume gives 75% utilization and 0.45 m³ unused.
Important notes
The rate can exceed 100% if used volume is defined differently from pallet bounds or overhang is allowed. Review the definitions before comparing.
Worked examples and interpreting results
| Case | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Utilization | 1.35 ÷ 1.8 × 100 | 75 % |
| Unused | 1.8 − 1.35 | 0.45 |
Frequently asked questions
Is 100% practical utilization possible?
Sometimes, but gaps, shapes and stability requirements often make practical utilization lower.
Is the result an actual carrier quote?
No. The calculator applies your inputs mathematically; carriers may use minimums, zones, tiers, fees and different rounding rules.
What matters most before comparing?
Keep units, period and cost scope consistent, and know whether pricing uses actual, dimensional or chargeable weight.
