How to use
Calculate paver pieces and packs from paved area, paver dimensions, waste and pieces per pack.
- Enter Paving area (m²).
- Enter Paver length (cm).
- Enter Paver width (cm).
- Enter Pieces per pack.
- Enter Waste (%).
- Calculate, then review the assumptions before purchasing.
How it is calculated
Example
Thirty-five square metres with 20×10 cm pavers and 8% waste needs 1,890 pieces; at 50 pieces per pack, 38 packs are required.
Important notes
Diagonal patterns, edges and curves increase cuts and waste. Use actual face dimensions and check whether the supplier sells by piece, pack or square metre.
Worked examples and interpreting results
Thirty-five square metres with 20×10 cm pavers and 8% waste needs 1,890 pieces; at 50 pieces per pack, 38 packs are required.
| Case | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Pieces | ceil(35 × 1.08 ÷ 0.02) | 1,890 |
| Packs | ceil(1890 ÷ 50) | 38 |
How to check the result
Diagonal patterns, edges and curves increase cuts and waste. Use actual face dimensions and check whether the supplier sells by piece, pack or square metre.
Frequently asked questions
Are joints between pavers included?
This calculator uses paver face area. For wide joints or irregular units, supplier coverage can be a better basis.
Should I include waste?
Include an allowance when cuts, breakage or layout losses are expected. Use a percentage that fits your project rather than assuming one fixed rate.
Do the units need to match?
Yes. The calculator assumes the units stated beside each field, so convert measurements first when your source uses different units.
