- Enter New monthly rent.
- Calculate, then verify input definitions before comparing properties or periods.
How it is calculated
Change % = (new rent − old rent) ÷ old rent × 100
Example
Moving from 5,000 to 5,400 means 400 more per month, an 8% increase, or 4,800 annualized.
Important notes
This calculator does not determine whether an increase is legally permitted. Rent rules vary by jurisdiction and contract.
Worked examples and interpreting results

Frequently asked questions
Does this enforce legal rent caps?
No. It is a general math tool and does not automatically apply local laws or caps.
Should inputs cover the same period?
Yes. When comparing income, expense, balance or price figures, keep the period and definitions consistent.
Is the result a final property valuation?
No. The calculator gives a numerical relationship only; real decisions also depend on location, market conditions, taxes, financing and risk.
