How to use
- Enter Distance km.
- Enter Consumption kWh/100 km.
- Enter Price per kWh.
- Calculate, then review units and consumption or cost assumptions before comparing.
How it is calculated
Energy = distance × kWh/100 km ÷ 100; cost = energy × price
Example
A 300 km trip at 18 kWh/100 km needs 54 kWh; at 0.18 per kWh the energy cost is 9.72.
Important notes
Actual consumption changes with speed, temperature, climate control and elevation. Use realistic trip consumption and avoid planning to the theoretical battery limit.
Worked examples and interpreting results
| Case | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Energy | 300 × 18 ÷ 100 | 54 |
| Cost | 54 × 0.18 | 9.72 |
Frequently asked questions
Does this include fast-charging or fixed fees?
Only if the entered kWh price reflects them; fixed fees need to be added separately.
Is the result an estimate or an actual cost?
It is a calculation based on your inputs. Actual prices, consumption and fees can vary by vehicle, route and energy source.
How should two scenarios be compared?
Use the same distance, period and units, and change one variable at a time where possible.
