How to use
- Enter Fuel rate L/hour.
- Enter Runtime hours.
- Enter Fuel price per litre.
- Calculate, then review power, price and period before comparing.
How it is calculated
Fuel = litres/hour × hours; cost = fuel × price/litre
Example
A generator using 2.5 L/hour for 8 hours consumes 20 litres; at 2.2 per litre the fuel cost is 44.
Important notes
Generator fuel rate depends strongly on load. Use a measured rate or manufacturer data at the expected load rather than a rate from another load level.
Worked examples and interpreting results
| Case | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Fuel used | 2.5 × 8 | 20 |
| Cost | 20 × 2.2 | 44 |
Frequently asked questions
Should I use full-load fuel rate?
Only if the generator operates near full load; partial load usually changes litres per hour.
Is the result an actual utility bill?
No. It is a calculation from your usage, price and inputs; real tariffs, taxes and fixed fees may add other items.
How can I improve accuracy?
Use measured or device-specific power and usage plus the actual electricity price for the same period.
