How to use
- Enter Fuel budget.
- Enter Price per litre.
- Enter Consumption L/100 km.
- Calculate, then review units and consumption or cost assumptions before comparing.
How it is calculated
Litres = budget ÷ price per litre; distance = litres ÷ L/100 km × 100
Example
A budget of 100 at 2.2 per litre buys about 45.45 litres; at 8 L/100 km that implies about 568.18 km theoretically.
Important notes
Do not plan to use the entire theoretical distance. Keep a reserve for traffic, detours and consumption variation.
Worked examples and interpreting results
| Case | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Litres | 100 ÷ 2.2 | 45.454545 |
| Distance | 45.4545 ÷ 8 × 100 | 568.181818 |
Frequently asked questions
Does the budget include tolls?
No. The budget here is for fuel only; tolls and parking are separate.
Is the result an estimate or an actual cost?
It is a calculation based on your inputs. Actual prices, consumption and fees can vary by vehicle, route and energy source.
How should two scenarios be compared?
Use the same distance, period and units, and change one variable at a time where possible.
